"An Integrated Digital Television ("IDTV" or "iDTV") set is a television set with a built in digital tuner, be it for DVB-T, DVB-S, DVB-C, DMB-T/H, ATSC or ISDB. Most of them also allow reception of analogue signals (PAL, SÉCAM or NTSC). They do away with the need for a set top box for converting those signals for reception on a television.
Most iDTVs do not inherently support pay TV, and as a result many are fitted with Common Interface slots to allow the use of a conditional access module. They may also include support for other features of a digital television "platform", such as an interactive television engine and support for some form of return channel. "

Mandatory per law (EC-2002-22 directive) on all the iDTV sold in Europe, present on many terrestrial and satellite DVB receivers, the CI slot is perfectly suitable to comply with the NEOTION Pocket DUO CI decoder.

  Common Interface : slot CI

Usualy used for DVB-CI control Acces modules, this slot becomes the new Digital Scart when you insert in a NEOTION Pocket DUO.

Check your AV equipments : you will easily find a Tv or a DVB-Ci receiver with a CI, you just have to insert your NEOTION Pocket in a CI slot to begin !

The members of the CI+ Forum formed as a group to rapidly bring to market a specification for enhancements to the Common Interface that will satisfy the most urgent market requirements for improvements to the existing CI Specification.

The CI+ Forum is pleased to advise that following completion of public review of the V0.8 CI+ Specification in January 2008, The CI+ Forum has published on May 26 the V1.00 of the CI+ Specification.

Whilst this is fully intended as a "final" release version of the CI+ Specification, the CI+ Forum reserves the right to make further modifications to the specification, if need arises, as is the norm for technical specifications of this nature.

It is the intention of the CI+ Forum that publication of the V1.00 CI+ Specification will enable all interested parties to prepare their implementations of CI+ technology in products, both receivers and modules, in preparation for the launch of the CI+ Trust Authority and the market implementation phase.

The primary objective of the CI+ Forum is to deliver an open specification that will act as a market enabler for secure delivery of Pay TV Services to a horizontal market for DTV Receivers. It is however the in the nature of security related work that there is sometimes a need to preserve elements of the specification from full public exposure. As a consequence, some parts of the CI+ Specification are deliberately excluded from public review and will only be made available to legitimate licensees of the CI+ Specification.

The CI+ Forum is now working rapidly to establish the CI+ Trust Authority, as described in our recently published White Paper, that will allow all implementers of the CI+ Specification to register compliant products with the CI+ Trust Authority and commercially launch CI+ certified products in the market.

The CI+ Forum thanks you for your continued interest in the work of our group and we look forward to providing you further news on the launch of the CI+ Trust Authority very soon.
